Over the course of two weeks, we were given the opportunity to experiment with different types of photography project. The ones I had chosen to do are portrayed above. The first three pictures shown are of sliced oranges which are from the Photography Project 06: Fine-Art Food, which is where you evenly and thinly slice fruits or vegetables and place them on a lightbox so you can see the transparency through them. The second project I did was the Photography Project 08: Abstracts in Oil. For this project, we placed water and oil in the same glass jar and placed it over a colored background. Then for the two purple photographs shown above, we put dye into the mixture to see what would happen. The last project I did was Photography Project 02: Indoor Splash Shots where we dropped objects in water and video taped it using the slow motion camera, then took screenshots from the videos to get the picture shown above. The last picture in the slide show was dye placed in water after we created a whirlpool in the water. It wasn't a specific project, we did it just to see what would happen.
My photographer I researched was Rathika Ramasamy. She was born in Theni, Southern Tamilnadu. She Got interested in photographing animals, especially exotic birds because she thought they were beautiful and wanted to make people aware of endangered wildlife. She also enjoyed photographing birds because it excited her. Rathika loved waiting in big open fields for birds to fly in the air so she could take pictures of them. The pictures she takes are either close ups of animals or wildlife in action. Her photographs are very clear and the camera she uses make you able to see every little detail in the animals. She captures the beauty and uniqueness of endangered wildlife.
